BONITA É A NOITE COM SUA FUNDURA

O Instituto Práticas Desobedientes, em parceria com a RV Cultura e Arte, convidam para a abertura de “Bonita é a Noite com sua Fundura”, exposição coletiva que celebra os seis anos de criação do grupo permanente de pesquisa e criação Práticas Desobedientes.

The Instituto Práticas Desobedientes, in partnership with RV Cultura e Arte, presents Beautiful Is the Night with Its Depth, a group exhibition celebrating six years of the permanent research and creation group Práticas Desobedientes.

Bonita é a Noite com sua Fundura

Incitadas pela noite e sua fundura, nos perguntamos: o que nos mobiliza, o que nos move? Para Aimé Césaire, é justamente na fundura que se pode ouvir o rumor da poesia, o ritmo que brota: “De onde vem? Não artificialmente imposto de fora, mas que jorra das profundezas. Noite de sangue pulsando até o dia e se impondo; o tempo da vida, seus espasmos; não a música das palavras captadas, mas a mais profunda vibração interior. É por isso que o escultor sudanês só trabalha à noite, e cantando, incorpora na estátua o verbo encantatório.” Também o poeta Sony Labou Tansi entende o fazer poético como um ato vital, como o gesto de respirar: “escutar a música dentro da noite profunda”, para então “emprestar suas artérias ao verbo” e “incomodar as palavras, incomodar as boas consciências”. Bonita é a noite com sua fundura, porque é nela que os mistérios se apresentam. É na escuridão que o indefinido se anima e nos oferece a possibilidade de redesenhar o real. É na noite que a experiência se expressa — rápida, flamejante —, onde as vozes ecoam e, por vezes, as armas baixam a guarda. Bonita é a noite com sua fundura, porque o fundo não é vertical, mas um horizonte que se afunda a cada passo, como numa selva onde o sentido de presa pode se inverter. É na profundidade de seus infinitos matizes que o desaparecer também se transforma em arma. E quando podemos nos atravessar do que acontece, numa perspectiva de produção e propagação de conhecimentos? Haja vista o nosso presente, espiado pela lente dos nossos recôncavos — onde uma série de impasses e enfrentamentos já conhecidos se atenuam e nos fazem experimentar o limite das coisas.

Beautiful is the Night with its Depth

Incited by the night and its depth, we ask ourselves: what stirs us, what moves us? For Aimé Césaire, it is precisely in the depth that we can hear the murmur of poetry, the rhythm that emerges: “Where does it come from? Not artificially imposed from the outside, but gushing from the depths. Night of blood pulsing until daybreak and imposing itself; the time of life, its spasms; not the music of words captured, but the deepest inner vibration. That is why the Sudanese sculptor works only at night, and singing, incorporates into the statue the incantatory verb.” Likewise, the poet Sony Labou Tansi understands the poetic act as vital, like the gesture of breathing: “to listen to the music within the deep night,” and then “to lend his arteries to the verb” and “to disturb words, to disturb good consciences.” Beautiful is the Night with its Depth, because it is within it that mysteries are revealed. It is in darkness that the undefined comes alive and offers us the possibility of redrawing the real. It is in the night that experience expresses itself—swift, blazing—where voices echo and, at times, weapons let down their guard. Beautiful is the Night with its Depth, because depth is not vertical, but a horizon that sinks with every step, like in a jungle where the sense of prey can invert itself. It is within the depth of its infinite shades that disappearance also becomes a weapon. And when can we allow ourselves to be traversed by what happens, in a perspective of producing and propagating knowledge? Let us look at our present, glimpsed through the lens of our recôncavos—where a series of familiar impasses and confrontations are softened and make us experience the very limit of things.

O Instituto Práticas Desobedientes é uma organização sem fins lucrativos, baseada no Recôncavo Baiano, que desenvolve tecnologias de formação para jovens artistas, com foco em aprendizagem coletiva e pedagogias libertárias. Desejando dividir, multiplicar e pensar a arte contemporânea a partir de novas centralidades para o conhecimento, o Instituto promove metodologias sociais de aprendizagem, tendo como missão contribuir para a construção de leituras e narrativas contemporâneas desde regiões historicamente marcadas por relevância e soberania. Nosso trabalho busca fortalecer projetos educacionais e aproximar artistas em formação dos circuitos de circulação, exibição e distribuição da arte contemporânea no Brasil, diminuindo abismos e gerando impacto estrutural e simbólico.

Disobedient Practices Institute are a non-profit organization based in the Recôncavo Baiano that develops training technologies for young artists, focusing on collective learning and libertarian pedagogies. Aiming to share, multiply, and think about contemporary art around new centralities for knowledge, the Institute promotes social learning methodologies, with the main mission of contributing to the construction of contemporary readings and narratives from regions marked by historical relevance and sovereignty. Our work seeks to strengthening educational projects and bringing artists in early stages of their career closer to markets of circulation, exhibition and distribution of contemporary art in Brazil, reducing chasms and generating structural and symbolic impact.
